After the enthusiasm over the book distribution at the 22nd Annual African American Heritage Parade, ReadingWithKids.org was asked to again distribute books two weeks later for the 10th Annual Acadia Youth Summit Parade in Crowley on March 21. The Youth Summit is organized annually by Mr. Calvin Ardoin.
The Theta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, along with their high school affiliate, the Lafayette Kappa League, distributed about 1200 books to families in the crowd. Appropriately enough, the motto for the 2026 Summit was, “If you teach a child, you will not have to reteach adults!”
All of the distributed books were new, and donated by RwK from its collection of over 15K books in 4 Lafayette locations.
